R&B Singer Janet Jackson Hospitalized Over Flu Symptoms
Megastar Janet Jackson was reportedly hospitalized after a rigorous promotional schedule around the country for her new album Discipline. The R&B singer came down with flu-like systems, check into a hospital but was released on her own accord. Her rep tells Singersroom, “She did go to the hospital, but she’s just battling this crazy flu like everyone else.” No word yet of any changes to Janet’s scheduled appearance on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend. Jackson returned to Soundscan’s #1 position on the Billboard 200 albums chart with her Island Def Jam album debut ‘Discipline.’ Her first week sales was 181,075 units. ‘Discipline’ marks Janet’s first #1 Soundscan album debut in nearly seven years, since ‘All For You’ in May 2001. ‘Discipline’ is the 10th studio album (and overall 13th album) of Janet Jackson’s career. In addition to Rodney Jerkins, who produced “Feedback,” the new album brings together an A-list of guest producers, including Jermaine Dupri, Ne-Yo, Stargate, Tricky Stewart, and The-Dream.
