ISIS' DEBUT DVD RELEASE, CLEARING THE EYE, SET FOR SEPT. 26 RELEASE

Isis

ISIS, the Los Angeles based post-metal quintet, release their debut DVD, Clearing The Eye, on Sept. 26 via Ipecac Recordings, which will be followed by their as-of-yet untitled new album (slated for a Halloween release).

The DVD captures live performances (from the venerated stages of CBGB's and The Troubadour) of the band's powerful music that Entertainment Weekly described as "exploding with ominous beauty" while the New York Times characterized their live shows as "enthralling." Also included in Clearing The Eye is a music video for "In Fiction," interactive photo galleries, a discography and a graphically rich twenty-page booklet. This outgrowth of the band is long overdue as band member Aaron Turner has often sought out visual elements to pull together the band's conceptual releases. Ironically Decibel Magazine, while declaring their 2004 release Panopticon as one of the Top 10 releases of the year, summed up ISIS' music as a "cinematic tour de force, only without the moving pictures."

For the band's upcoming album, they have re-teamed with producer Matt Bayles (Mastodon, These Arms Are Snakes). This album is certain to not only reaffirm ISIS as trailblazers of a specific sub-genre but will propel the group into the mainstream consciousness. The band is spending the final months of summer supporting Tool in North America; dates are below.
