R&B/Soul singer India.Arie has announced additional dates for her current tour as she continues to promote last year's "Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship." The Grammy winner’s next stop is in Memphis, TN on May 27. She’ll take a month-long break before hitting the road again for a number of late June shows. She heads to Europe for a brief tour in July, with additional U.S. dates to follow. India. Arie's third studio album, Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship, was released on June 27, 2006. It gave India. Arie her first number-one on the Billboard 200 and was her second chart topper on the R&B chart. Tyra Banks announces the exclusive release of "What About the Child," a new track from Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter India.Arie, to raise funds for children affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. India.Arie performed the previously unreleased single on the Dec. 7th episode of The Tyra Banks Show. The live performance will be available for download as an audio track at www.tyrashow.com through a partnership with www.iAmplify.com throughout the holiday season. All proceeds from the track will benefit young hurricane victims through the U.S. Fund for UNICEF.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, the album sold 161,000 copies in its first week, her best sales ever. Her last album, 2002's "Voyage To India," debuted at No. 6 with 109,000 units. Sales may have been boosted by the show-stealing Chaka Khan tribute which she performed at the BET Awards. Barbados teen sensation Rihanna's "A Girl Like Me" moved back into the Top 10, jumping from No. 12 to No. 5 after the 18-year-old's debut album sold 62,000 more copies last week. "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Is Enuf," has been revived on Broadway and Grammy-winning R&B singer-songwriter India.Arie is set to take the starring roll. The play, which is often described as a choreopoem, is about seven women of color from the African Diaspora. No other cast members have been chosen, nor has a theater been named. It is scheduled to begin previews in mid-July with an opening set for early August. Shirley Jo Finney will direct, and three-time Tony winner Hinton Battle will choreograph. In summer 1976, the Obie-winning play had a three-month run off-Broadway at the Public Theater and then moved to Broadway, where it ran for nearly two years. It was nominated for the Tony for best play, and Trazana Beverley won a Tony for best featured actress in a play. "For Colored Girls" was remounted off-Broadway at American Place Theatre in summer 2000, but this will be its first revival on the Main Stem.
