Light sound with a mature feel
Make Another World - 2007
Scotland's finest Idlewild have returned with their sixth studio release, Make Another World an album recorded in just six weeks in Edinburgh with long time producer Dave Eringa.
Returning to their roots, at lease in part, the band leaves behind the chaotic and agressive approach in favour of a more mature attitude.
Highlights of the album include Everything (As It Moves), a powerful upbeat track that may just be one of the best song of the year, If It Takes You Home that has a punkish feel to it and has a strong drive and good lyrics and Finished It Remains, the album's closer who's epic nature is well brought by guitar riffs.
No Emotion is the band's first single release and puts a bit of a dance beat into their rhythm for a altogether new sound and catchy chorus.
With a softer sound but with good lyrics backed up by excellent instrumentation the album Make Another World is sure to make a mark in the year 2007.
