Icarus Line

Icarus Line - Caviar guitar tab

Thanks a lot to Simon for writing all of this tab.

h - Hammer note

~ - Let the note ring, vibrato etc

\\ - Slide down

/ - Slide up

bu - Bend up

x - Mute string with left hand

Guitar 1: I'm guessing this is Aaron, loads of distortion and weird effects.

Guitar 2: Alvin, weird trebly effect, with nuff reverb. Kicks in the overdrive for the break.

Intro/Verse Guitar 1 (play twice first time round, once second time round)

E|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

B|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

G|---------------------5-3-2-------------------------------------------|

D|----------3~---3h5~--------3--------------3~-------------------------|

A|------3-5--------------------5~-------3-5----------------------------|

E|-/3~-----------------------------/3~------------3~~~-----------------|

Ok, this bit is played twice at the beginning, with lots of pauses and bends inbetween

and a feedback/bend type thing on the last G before it repeats itself. Vibrato on pretty

every note. Gotta listen to the song to get the timing, I suck at tabbing so can't

get it to fit. If you have the live(ish) version of this you can hear this part much better.

It's all played with a cool trebly effect and a bit of echo. The very first couple of

are kinda lost in the mix, but play the first note at the same time as the first note

1 plays and it should work out ok. Apart from that this isn't tabbed out in relation to

Guitar 1 tab; so listen to the song. The one line of tab for Guitar 1 should fit into two

of tab for Guitar 2... you'll get what I mean if you play it with the song. Oh yeah, to

it even more confusing, you only play the second half of that bit the second time round;

listen to the song.

Chorus Guitar 1

Part A Part B

E|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

B|--play-three-times---------------------------------------------------|

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

D|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

A|---4---6-----7---7~--------------------4-----1-----------------------|

E|-3---3---3-3---3--------------------------6~----3~-------------------|

Pretty straightforward; but Part A sounds weird by itself, works with the track, honest.

A is played while Guitar 2 is doing all the high trem stuff below, both guitars play

B. Second time round play Part A four times, forget about B until the end.

Chorus Guitar 2

Part A

E|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

B|---88888888888888888888888777777755555555----------------------------|

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

D|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

A|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

E|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

Tremolo pick these notes a shitload, dunno how many exactly, do that twice.

Part A

E|--------------666h888888bu99999966-----------------------------------|

B|---88888888888---------------------888888777777755555555-------------|

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

D|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

A|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

E|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

Same again, keep trem picking in the bend, listen to the song.

Part A Part B

E|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

B|---88888888888888888888888777777755555555----------------------------|

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

D|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

A|---------------------------------------------4----1------------------|

E|------------------------------------------------6~---3~--------------|

The last four notes, Part B, are played by both guitars, distorted. Now go back and

everything, but when you get to this bit again, keep trem picking the E (5 on the B string)

of playing Part B. This brings you into the hardcore mosh breakdown wicked cool bit.

Break Guitars 1 and 2

Part A

E|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

B|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

G|-----3------3-----5~-------------------------------------------------|

D|-5-x-3-5-55-3-5-3-5~-------------------------------------------------|

A|-5-x-1-5-55-1-5-3-3~-------------------------------------------------|

E|-3-x---3-33---3-1----------------------------------------------------|

Part B

E|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

B|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

G|-----3------3-----7\\6\\5~---------------------------------------------|

D|-5-x-3-5-55-3-5-3-x-x-x----------------------------------------------|

A|-5-x-1-5-55-1-5-3-5\\4\\3~---------------------------------------------|

E|-3-x---3-33---3-1----------------------------------------------------|

The cool bit. Just play it loose and messy. You can replace the F (1,3,3 on the E

with a mute, Aaron fucks about with this with mutes a lot live, in the live(ish)

one

5,4,3 slide is replaced by mutes, sounds pretty cool.

The order to play this is:

A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, A, A, B ( The A part gets repeated during the 'There's no

side' bit. A couple of times they play the notes twice in the slide down, just listen to

track)

Guitar 1 then goes back and plays the chorus Part A bit 4 times, then Part B is repeated

and that's it. I wasted way too much time on this tab.
