Hunters And Collectors

Hunters And Collectors - Holy Grail (Live) guitar tab

Title: Holy Grail (LIVE)

Artist: Hunters & Collectors

Album: Living in Large Rooms and Lounges

Tabbed by: Rob Bowman rebowman@utas.edu.au

Holy Grail has got to be one of my most favourite songs to play acoustically.

This is the live version that Mark plays as a solo on the first CD and I

like it the most 'cause it sounds so good as a solo piece. (But it still

rocks when played with the whole band)

The chord progression is E A C#m B.

Mark plays this one with a CAPO on the 4TH FRET, so the chords relative

to the capo are C F Am G. Making sense? See the chords below if you don't.

So just play these open chords and you've got it. Listen for the chord

changes.

Every tab I've seen of this song has the wrong chords in the bridge,

and I'm not blaming anyone. It took me ages before I finally got them, so

they're right in this tab.

Standard tuning, Capo 4th

C - 032010 Is equivalent to E - 022100 or 779997

F - 133211 (without the capo) A - 577655 or 002220

Am- 002210 C#m- 446654 or 911999

G - 320033 B - 223332 or 799877

C7- 032310 E7 - 020100 or 779797

[C]Woke up this morning from the [Am]strangest [G]dream

on the [G]Holy [C]Grail [F Am G]

Verse 3:

[F]Well have you heard about the [Am]Great [G]Crusade?

Verse 4:

[C]All the locals scattered... they were [Am]hiding in the [G]snow

[C]We were so far from home... so [Am]how were we to [G]know?

[C]There'd be nothing left to plunder when we [Am]stumbled

on the [G]Holy [C]Grail [F Am G]

Verse 5:

[F]We were full of beans but we were [Am]dying like [G]flies

[F]And those big black birds... they were [Am]circling in the [G]sky

[F]And you know what they say, [Am]yeah

no[G]body's supposed to [C]die [F Am G]

BRIDGE:

Oh but [C]I, I've been [C7]searching for an easy [Am]way

To escape the cold [F]light of [C]day

I've been [C7]high and I've been [Am]low

But I've got nowhere [F]else to [C]go_________[C7]_______[Am]

[F]There's nowhere else to [C]go!

And I'm, [C7]down on my hands and [Am]knees, You gotta help me [G]LET'S GO!

C F Am G x2

Verse 6:

[F]I followed orders, [Am]God knows where I've [G]been

But I [F]woke up alone, all my [Am]wounds were [G]clean, yeah

[F]I'm still here, [Am]I'm a [G]fool for the [C]Holy [F]Grail [Am G]

Ad lib over A D Fm E then fade or end on E or A.
