Suburban Noize, the thriving indie label that launched the frighteningly influential counterculture, anti-establishment heroes Kottonmouth Kings into a global phenomenon, just got noizier. In a match truly made in "G-Punk" heaven, the company has inked a deal with HED p.e., the popular Orange County, California based hardcore/punk/hip-hop band that's wowed disenfranchised youth all over America on its tours with Ozzfest, Korn, Static-X and System of a Down.

Infused with the kind of swagger most rock bands just can't buy-and unafraid to take its fans from classic hip-hop culture to punk, to metal and back again--HED p.e. revels in its claim to be "the one and only true pimps of hardcore." Just as they have done on four previous bestselling releases, their projects with Suburban Noize will be dedicated to making sure that the First Amendment is alive and pissed off. When a band boldly says it's not afraid of rough sex or American Revolution, truly, what can stop them?

        Fronted by Orange County native Jared "The Underdog" Shain, HED p.e. refuses to put its music in a skirt. "Finally a label that is as pimp as my band is," he says of the deal with Suburban Noize. "The match between us is so gangster!  The guys who run this label are as down as the fools in the bands! This is the only label for HED p.e.  I'm proud to be label mates with KMK, because those guys have remained true to the game. 

"Suburban Noize is the only label that represents millions of American youth that are just not feeling the whole pop-rock self-worship movement," he adds. "This label refuses to be bought out by corporate-federal interests, and so do we! I can't wait to release our next classic joint through Subnoize."

With one of the most visual and exciting DJs in the business (DJ Product), HED p.e.'s live show has achieved for them what pop radio could not--a nationwide cult following. Their crowds are diverse and the mix between bloodthirsty pit dwellers and suburban thugs is complete entertainment in itself.

Shain explains, tongue firmly in cheek, "The songs I write are definitely not meant for everyone, just the sexy people! Our music is for the people who like to live outside the mainstream, you know, for people who do it doggy style. It's not meant for Sunday school teachers or people who just like it in the missionary position! The parental advisory stickers on our CDs are definitely relevant and appropriate."

        HED p.e. (p.e. stands for "planet earth") was founded in 1994 by Shain (a.k.a. M.C.U.D.), whose goal was to fuse the region's long-standing punk rock heritage with G-funk-inflected hip-hop--a sound he labeled "G-punk." Three years and a self-financed 1995 EP entitled Church of Realities later, HED p.e released their eponymous debut through Jive Records, then hit the road with Ozzfest and bands like Korn, Static-X, and System of a Down. 

The group released a second album, Broke, in 2000, and a third, Blackout, in 2003, after which HED p.e. switched labels from Jive to Koch, and underwent something of an overhaul (welcoming new guitarist Jaxon and drummer Moke) prior to recording their fourth album, 2005's Only in Amerika.

In addition to The Kottonmouth Kings, Suburban Noize's current roster also includes rappers Big B, Judge D, hardcore band Mower and punk rockers Last Laugh.
