Guitar Lessons - Method For Playing Minor Scales guitar tab
standard tuning
|-----------------------|This is a G minor scale. Once you can play this
|-----------------------|you can play any minor scale.
|-----------------------|
|-------------3-5-------|
|-------3-5-6-----------|
|-3-5-6-----------------|
|-----------------------|This is G sharp (or A flat) minor scale. Notice how
|-----------------------|all i did was move from G to G sharp, but i played
|-----------------------|the same fingering. (dont look at the numbers on
|--------------4-6------|the tab, look at how many frets apart each is, they
|--------4-6-7----------|all in the same form)
|--4-6-7----------------|
|----------------------|This is an A minor scale. (what makes it an A minor
|----------------------|is that it starts on an A) To get from the G sharp
|----------------------|to an A minor scale, all you have to do is switch
|---------------5-7----|the root note from G sharp to A, and play everyting
|---------5-7-8--------|1 fret higher, because G sharp to A is only 1 fret
|---5-7-8--------------|away. Do that to every oter note and yu can play every
minor scale.
