standard tuning
|-------------------------|
|-------------------------|
|------------2-4-5--------| This is a C major scale. After you play that
|------2-3-5--------------| you will be able to play any other major scale.
|--3-5--------------------|
|-------------------------|
|-------------------------|
|-------------------------|
|------------3-5-6--------|This is a C sharp major scale. Notice how all i did was move
|------3-4-6--------------|from C to C sharp, but i still played with the same fingering.
|--4-6--------------------|(it might be hard to understand at first, dont look at the
|-------------------------|numbers on the tab, look at how many frets apart each is,
example: in the c major, 3 - 5 is two frets apart, then on the C sharp
4-6 is two frets apart also. If you understand what i am saying
you will be able to play any major scale)
|------------------------|
|------------------------|This is a E major scale.(what makes it a E major scale is that
|------------------------|it start on an E) Say you only know how to play an E major
|-----------6-8-9--------|scale, but you want to play a G major. all you have to do is
|-----6-7-9--------------|move the root note to a G and play it with the same fingering
|-7-9--------------------|you did with the E major. if you still dont get just think about it because it really is easy.
