"The Nightmare's Beginning"

written by Nobuo Uematsu

off the Final Fantasy VII ost

standard tuning, eadgbe

there are two parts to this song, guitar and a string/pad type instrument.

the easy way to play this song is to just play the guitar part, but i have

been able to play the other part on a keyboard (that was lying on the

floor) with my feet, using a Warm Pad sound. The warm pad notes, and their

approximate placement, have been written on the '*' string above the high e

string. (it's easier to play a keyboard with your feet when you attach

clothespins or something to the keys. this makes it much harder to hit keys

you don't want to, and you only play 3 or 4 notes in the whole song)

it's easier than it sounds.

that's about it, more or less. if anyone figures out how to play the bass

notes that go along with this, please let me know. it might be really easy,

i never took the time to find out.

have fun!

_john reeser

[*author's note*]

the following is the way that I usually play this, i don't know why,

because it seems like it would be harder, but my fingers have become

accustomed to it... the only difference is the first few licks:
