Everclear - Bad Connection guitar tab
Bad Connection
Tabbed by Jason Pan (balaka@cyberspace.net.au)
with thanks to the guy who did the bass tab
Most of the time it's only the bass playing, if you want that, get
it from the bass tab.
All of the start of the song and first two verses and the first
chorus are just bass (or have muted guitar, I can't tell).
Right after the first chorus, the guitar cuts in with a C bar chord,
which then stops when the verse starts. When that verse gets to the
"Can you hear me? I've been calling all day. Can you hear me?", the
guitar comes back in with a F chord and stops when that line finishes.
In the next two lines ("My car's all ready and my bags are packed....")
the guitar plays the main bass riff which is:
e|------------------|
B|------------------|
G|------------------|
D|------2---5---7-5-|
A|--3-3---3---3-----|
E|------------------|
Then when it gets to the "Can you hear me...." line again, the guitar
plays the F chord and overdubbed over it is little fill:
e|-------------|
B|--5h6p5h6p5--|
G|-------------|
D|-------------|
A|-------------|
E|-------------|
Then it comes to the chorus (* means play 8 times)
e|-------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------------------|
G|--7*------5*--10*-5*--9*--10*--12*---|
D|--7*--5*--5*--10*-5*--9*--10*--12*---|
A|--5*--5*--3*--8*--3*--7*--8*---10*---|
E|------3*-----------------------------|
The guitar plays the C chord until the lead thing starts,
i.e. when the prank call is on, which is:
e|----------------------| x7
B|o-5----------6p5--3--o|
G|-----5----------------|
D|--------5-------------|
A|o--------------------o|
E|----------------------|
then
e|-----------------------|
B|-5----------5h6p5h6p5--|
G|----5------------------|
D|-------5---------------|
A|-----------------------|
E|-----------------------|
Then you play the chorus again, then the C chord in the interval,
then play the chorus again and then keep playing C until the song ends.
