DOWN on Revolver & Decibel Covers, 4 Star Rolling Stone Review
DOWN's critically acclaimed new album DOWN III - Over The Under is in stores tomorrow on Down Records/ILG. The New Orleans natives will head out on the road for their OVER THE UNDER world tour which begins in the U.S. on 9/27 in Reno, NV. The band will spend the rest of 2007 headlining dates in North America with an international run to begin in 2008 in support of their forthcoming record.
**In the new issue of Rolling Stone, David Fricke gave Down III a FOUR STAR review calling it one of the year's best hard rock records: "Over The Under is not yet the hard-rock album of '07; there is some time to go. But it is a main contender." Check out the full review here: http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/album/16372380/review/16522056/down_iii__over_the_under
DOWN's Philip Anselmo graces the cover of Revolver's first ever HOT ISSUE this month (November issue - See attached cover shot) and offers Revolver readers one of only two extremely personal interviews Phil's done in advance of this album. The other interview was for Decibel Magazine's October issue cover which features the full band on the cover. The whole story is already up online on Decibel's website here: http://www.decibelmagazine.com/features/oct2007/down.aspx
DOWN is set to release DOWN III-OVER THE UNDER on Sept. 25th through ILG/Warner Music Group. After releasing two records mainly as a side project, the band got together in the months before Hurricane Katrina to start working on new material. The band reconnected in New Orleans in the aftermath of Katrina with a newfound purpose and focus on DOWN, and began work on their most ambitious record to date. Having already tapped Warren Riker, who produced their 2nd release, DOWN II-A Bustle in Your Hedgerow, the band demoed some 18 songs in Nodferatu's Lair, Philip Anselmo's studio in the swamps, with engineer David "Puma' Troia. In February of 2007, the band commenced recording on their 3rd and most committed record to date. Recorded in Los Angeles between February and July, 15 songs were ultimately cut for OVER THE UNDER. The result is over 60 minutes of genre-defying music further solidifying their place at the forefront of heavy rock as only DOWN can do.
DOWN is Philip Anselmo from Pantera, Pepper Keenan from Corrosion Of Conformity, Rex Brown from Pantera, Kirk Windstein from Crowbar, and Jimmy Bower from Eyehategod.
