Label boss Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs gets a free ride – at least criminally – for an Oscars afterparty incident in which he’s accused of punching a jealous man while threatening “I’ll smack flames out your a**.” No charges will be filed, a spokesman for the Los Angeles city Attorney’s Office said yesterday. The spokesman declined to comment why the case fell apart except for saying “there was insufficient evidence.” The alleged victim, real estate agent Gerard Rechnitzer, had initially claimed in a lawsuit that Combs flew into a violent rage at a Feb. 25 party at the Roosevelt Hotel. Rechnitzer claimed he’d spent five minutes at the event watching Combs hit on his lady. He then intervened and took his girlfriend away. Combs went nuts, the lawsuit alleges. “What the f*** you looking at, dude? Combs allegedly shout before snuffing him. Comb’s lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, said yesterday, “People who are superstars are always vulnerable to these allegations.”
