Classic Diana Ross Album Makes CD Debut, Plus Ross to Tour
It's never too late to release material, especially a classic. According to Billboard, Diana Ross' 1970 album "Everything Is Everything" will be released on CD for the first time June 17th. The set first appeared while Ross' self-titled solo debut was still charting but failed to spawn a single along the lines of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," a No. 1 pop hit. However, "I'm Still Waiting" reached No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart, and Ross' cover of Aretha Franklin's "I Love You (Call Me)" was nominated for a Grammy for best female R&B vocal performance. Beyond the album's original 11 tracks, the new edition of "Everything Is Everything" includes previously unreleased covers of the Beatles' "Something" and "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?" from the film "The Happy Ending," plus alternate versions of "Ain't No Sad Song" and "Baby It's Love." Remixes of "Come Together" and "I'm Still Waiting" round out the package. Ross' latest album "I Love You" hit stores last year debuting at #32 on the Billboard 200. The Motown Legend continues to tour in North America through the summer in support of the project. In addition, the "Love Hangover" singer will play the famous Liverpool Pops Festival and the National Trust Summer Festival in the UK this summer.
