Destiny's Child honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The beautiful ladies of R&B group Destiny's Child have been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Lead singer Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams were reunited for the ceremony in Hollywood following the group's split last year reports BBC news. "We started when we were 9 years old, and here we are getting a Hollywood star," said 24-year-old Knowles. "Dreams come true. So thank you all so much for supporting us." The group's hits include Say My Name and Survivor. Although Destiny's Child have called it quits, they are releasing a concert DVD 'Live In Atlanta' - recorded at Atlanta's Phillips Arena, from their 2005 farewell 'Lovin' It' tour - and are all pursuing solo projects.

Destiny's Child DVD On The Way

A new Destiny's Child DVD arrives in stores this Tuesday, March 28th. Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle are featured in the "Destiny's Child: Live in Atlanta" DVD, which captures the trio's July 2005 concert at Atlanta's Phillips Arena. The DVD includes the group's biggest hits like "Say My Name," "Bootylicious," "Survivor" and "Soldier," and it also features some testimonials from Destiny's Child fans.

R&B Super Group Destiny's Child To Launch Dance Battle Game

Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix(TM) interactive products in North America, record label Music World, and SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT today announced the development of "Destiny's Child Groove," the first mobile dance game featuring the popular R&B songs of multiple Grammy-winning female group Destiny's Child. "Destiny's Child Groove" is a competitive dance game that will feature images of vocalists Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and four songs from the group's "#1s" album, including "Survivor," "Bug A Boo," "Say My Name" and "Lose My Breath." Synchronizing music, rhythm and gameplay, "Destiny's Child Groove" will take the form of a back-and-forth dance battle in which users compete against A.I. characters. ?We are delighted to be working with Destiny's Child and Square Enix to roll out this innovative new game," said Thomas Hesse, president of Global Digital Business for SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT. "DC Groove will give fans a creative and fun way to connect with one of the most phenomenally talented groups of all time, and the opportunity to experience the thrill of state-of-the-art mobile gaming." "The beautiful thing about this project is that the main people involved in creating it are youthful. The same goes for the artists, many of their fans, as well as our target gamers," said Shuhei Yamaguchi, Mobile Producer for Square Enix, Inc. "It's a game for the young, created by the young. I'm confident, this landmark project that expands the casual genre of mobile games, will be a hit." The nationwide roll-out of "Destiny's Child Groove" will begin this winter on most major carriers. Destiny’s Child maybe broken up but not forgotten. Today the former group members, along with Music World, SonyBMG, and video game publisher Square Enix, Inc. announced that Destiny's Child Groove is now available on the AT&T Wireless Network. The title will be the first mobile dance video game featuring popular R&B songs from the multiple Grammy-winning female group. Destiny's Child Groove is a competitive mobile dance game that will feature photos of vocalists Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and four songs from the group's "#1s" album, including “Survivor,” “Bug A Boo,” “Say My Name” and “Lose My Breath.” Players "audition" to become backup singer for the band in the game by following prompts along to the rhythms. The arrows are synchronized to the general rhythm or beat of a chosen song, and success depends on the player's skill in timing and positioning the directions accordingly. "Destiny's Child Groove has great graphics, you can take it with you wherever you go, and I love that I get to encourage players as they get better and better at the game," commented Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child. "We're always thrilled to have a new way to connect with our fans, and this game is a wonderful way to do exactly that." "Developing a truly unique game like Destiny's Child Groove has been a new and exciting experience for us," said John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix, Inc.
