DEADSY CANNOT BE STOPPED: BAND JOINS FAMILY VALUES TOUR AS THEY PREPARE FOR ANTICIPATED RELEASE OF PHANTASMAGORE

Deadsy

Deadsy's reign continues. PHANTASMAGORE, their genre-defying sophomore LP, will be released in time with the quintet's stint on this year's Family Values Tour, kicking off July 27 in Virginia Beach.

Deadsy's debut, COMMENCEMENT, landed in Billboard's Top 100 first week of release and went on to sell over 100k units based solely on "word-of-mouth." The band's Legions, i.e. fans, grew at lightning speed as Deadsy hit the road, sharing stages with the likes of KoRn, Papa Roach and Mindless Self Indulgence, as well as a run on the 2001 Family Values Tour. Upon completing this record cycle, the band quickly retreated to begin work on a follow up, ultimately heading into the studio to start recording in 2005.

Enter 2006 and Deadsy returns with their signature sound, termed "undercore," yet has taken their musical odyssey to another level. Their ability to create a perfect dichotomy between eerie and beautiful is most apparent on PHANTASMAGORE, with its grinding guitars, dense synth and distortion, coupled with beautiful melodies and undeniable hooks. "Razor Love," a modernized synth-induced jam, complete with sing-a-long chorus and dueling guitars introduces the album and quickly takes a surprising turn with "Carrying Over," a 12-string acoustic-driven pop song, hinting at Labyrinth-era Bowie. And although they tread into new musical territory, Deadsy fans fear not: songs like "Better Than You Know," "Health & Theory" and the title track, "Phantasmagore," will sound familiar.

Taking cues from pop culture as much as the metaphysical, whether referencing Velvet Underground or Stanley Kubrick, science or sci-fi, Deadsy's existence straddles a dual reality. Enamored by all things visual and incorporating its ideology into each facet of performance, Deadsy's live shows are unprecedented. World domination to begin shortly.
