DEADSY ADDED TO LOLLAPALOOZA; 'PHANTASMAGORE' TO BE RELEASED AUGUST 22

Deadsy

Deadsy has officially been added to the 2006 Lollapalooza lineup, scheduled to perform Sunday, August 6. The set time and stage will remain unannounced as this will be part of the Mindfield experience. Mindfield, the interactive festival game first introduced by founder Perry Farrell in 2003, uses cell phones and text messaging to create a giant interactive game board, with festivalgoers being the game pieces. With over 10,000 attendees already registered, each person will receive a text message a few hours prior to set time, announcing Deadsy's performance.

PHANTASMAGORE, Deadsy's genre-defying sophomore LP, will be released August 22 on Elementree/Immortal, but is already available for pre-order online at: immortalrecords.com/album/16.

Although rooted in their signature sound termed "undercore," the band has taken their musical odyssey to another level. "We just wanted to make a rock record, in the spirit of [Lou Reed's] 'Transformer,'" comments singer-guitarist Elijah Blue. The mutant synthesis of '80s new wave and bubblegum death metal beloved by Deadsy's fierce cult following is much in evidence on the album, but so, too, is the strain of pre-punk glam art rock pioneered by Reed in the Velvet Underground.

Deadsy's undying drive to push the creative envelope is often witnessed at their live shows. This avant-garde exhibition of sight and sound can be seen on the Family Values Tour throughout September. Additional one-off Deadsy tour dates listed below.
