COCAINE BLUES.
Over several decades of playing guitar, Reverend Gary Davis, born in South Carolina in 1896,
influenced scores of blues & ragtime guitarists from Blind Boy Fuller to Stefan Grossman.
When asked to mention his own influences, Davis always cited legendary ragtime master
Willie Walker, in whose band he played his first gigs as a teenager.
The Cocaine Blues is played in the key of C and shows a diversity of bassline patterns.
