Jack Bruce hints at summer reunion

Cream bassist Jack Bruce says that the 60s supergroup may reunite. He even hints at the possibility of playing some shows later this summer.

Bruce made the announcement at the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in Abbey Road, where he performed alongside a string of fellow music legends including The Rolling Stones' Bill Wyman and Jon Lord of Deep Purple.

He told the Associated Press: "It came up we're doing something if I wanted to. Obviously, I'm not going to be the one to say no."

So far, representatives for Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker have yet to confirm the reunion.

Cream reunited after 37 years in 2005, but their shows still caused rifts in the band with Bruce suggesting that drummer Ginger Baker was turning his bass sounds levels up to a deafening level.

The band originally split in 1968 after arguments, sometimes onstage, between Bruce and Baker became obvious and frontman Eric Clapton signalled an intent to release solo material.

Their albums Fresh Cream, Disraeli Gears, Wheels of Fire and Goodbye were notable for long guitar solos and the continuation of the blues rock movement.
