Christina Milian using Nick Cannon breakup to help with new album?
Nick Cannon's Peoplez' are furious that his ex-girlfriend Christina Milian has been trashing him in interviews and even in a song to hype her next album, "So Amazin'."
Typical was her appearance the other day on New York's Hot 97 Radio show with Angie Martinez. "It was heartbreaking for me," she said. "I was a good girl, a really loyal girl ? and I got beat real."
According to the NY Daily News, Milian is expected to get at Nick in Blender mag's May cover story, while her song "Who's Gonna Ride?" is a thinly veiled complaint by a woman scorned. "Everyone keeps calling it the Nick Cannon dis record," Milian said on Hot 97. "Writing that record helped me get through it. Writing is therapy to me. 'Who's Gonna Ride?' is a little bit more aggressive."
A Cannon pal claimed: "She's leveraging his success and using his name for press. No one cares about Christina Milian. She's not Beyoncé."
Milian's spokeswoman, Melissa Kates, scoffed: "These allegations are ludicrous."
The 25-year-old Cannon met the 24-year-old Milian a few years ago when they were starring in the romantic comedy "Love Don't Cost a Thing." They broke up last summer.
"The whole time they were filming, Nick had a girlfriend, and Christina didn't care," says a source. "He ended that relationship out of respect to his girlfriend, and he hooked up with Christina. But then he found out she'd slept with a friend of his, so they decided to just have fun together." But then "Christina started getting really serious. She broke into his Sidekick and found E-mails from other girls."
Milian is now dating Dre, a producer on her album. "If you're in a relationship with a new guy, why are you talking about Nick?" says Cannon's friend. "Because her boyfriend knows it's good PR for her." A spokeswoman for Cannon said, "I don't speak about my client's personal life."
