According to Diddy there was no wedding ceremony, ring or any form of engagement between him and his protégé Cassie. After a few a days of tabloid and internet stories covering an alleged proposal between Diddy and his protégé – R&B singer/model Cassie, the mogul issued a statement today calling the rumors false. "Contrary to tabloid reports, there is no engagement. This was a complete fabrication" says Diddy. Cassie has long been the subject of a rumored romance with Sean Diddy Combs who signed the songbird to Bad Boy in 2006. Despite a few "questionable" photographs and a semi-break up earlier this month there has been no confirmation of the romance. That all came to ahead this week when Star Magazine received a tip from an anonymous source close to Diddy that claimed to be aware of a recent marriage proposal. Cassie, who releases her sophomore album this fall says "We are not together, but we are definitely friends. We work hard together, so it makes a good combo." In related news, Cassie's video for "Official Girl," the singer's new single, is slated to hit the major networks next month.
