Brownstone Pumps Life Back Into Group
Brownstone, the former 90’s trio, which includes Nichole “Nicci” Gilbert, Charmayne “Maxee” Maxwell and Monica “Mimi” Doby have reunited for a new album without Monica "Mimi" Doby. The group added Racquel Roberts, an international performing artist with theater credits on ‘Hairspray,’ ‘Rent,’ and ‘The Lion King.’ Formerly signed to Michael Jackson's MJJ Music, Brownstone received mainstream success with their chart topping single, "If You Love Me." The group was nominated for the Female R&B Group Grammy Award. After success came turmoil in which Monica "Mimi" Doby left the group and was replaced by Kina Cosper. After the change, the revamped group did garner an equivalent reception from audiences on their release of "5 Miles to Empty." Now with a new look and a decade of experience Brownstone is back performing.
