A man indicted for stabbing R&B singer Bobby Brown's nephew was killed after an argument with his former girlfriend, police said.

Marque Dixson, 28, was shot early Thursday in a rental store parking lot after he left an altercation with his ex-girlfriend at a club in Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood.

According to the Associated Press, Investigators are still trying to determine who the shooter is and currently no arrests have been made.

"They don't know who did the shooting; that's what they're trying to determine," explains the ex-girlfriend. "Everybody's got a different story."

Police Sgt. Sam Norris said after Dixson left the club, his ex-girlfriend followed him in another car. He said the shooting occurred when Dixson stopped in the parking lot.

Dixson was indicted last summer on one count of aggravated assault and two counts of aggravated battery in the stabbing of Brown's nephew Shayne. Two men in Brown's entourage were stabbed in the neck during a fight, which happened as Brown and others were celebrating his father's birthday.

Dixson had been free on $50,000 bond.
