Bobby Brown is suing his now ex-wife Whitney Houston in a bid to change the terms of custody with their 14-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

In court papers, the R&B singer reveals he was too "strapped for cash" when his wife first filed for divorce last year (06) and couldn't afford to hire a lawyer to help him fight for custody. See the documents obtained by Entertainment Television here .

Brown also says he's devastated about losing his rights to see his daughter.

Bobby claims he has been homeless at times since the divorce, and is seeking spousal support, as well as child support for their daughter.

His divorce from Whitney was finalized on April 24, with Whitney getting full custody.

A court date for Bobby's new case has set for June 15.
