Bobby Brown Brushes Off Heart Attack Reports

Bobby Brown

R&B singer Bobby Brown denies reports that he had a mild heart attack on Wednesday, saying he is healthy and ready to begin his upcoming tour. "None of it's true," the singer told the Associated Press. "I don't know where the heart attack thing came from – I'm just fine." Reports of the singer having suffered a mild heart attack were confirmed by his rep, Phaedra Parks. She told PEOPLE – just hours before the singer went on AP Radio – that Brown had been rushed to hospital with chest pains on Tuesday afternoon and was "recovering nicely." Parks told the media that her client was diagnosed as "suffering from a mild heart attack ... they attributed to stress and diet." Contrary to this statement, Brown said the hospital visit was routine. "I did go to the hospital, to just get a checkup, get everything tested out so that I could go on this tour, and everything is fine," Brown said. "The doc gave me a clean bill of health." He is scheduled to perform at the V100 Taste of Soul concert in Los Angeles over the weekend and kicks off his tour in Atlanta on Nov. 16.
