Former Destiny?s Child beauty Beyonce Knowles is in talks to lock lips with Desperate Housewives' hottie Eva Longoria in an upcoming Sofia Coppola film, reports the New York Daily News.

The pair have been approached to play the two leads in an on-screen version of Sarah Walters' graphic novel, Tipping the Velvet - the Victorian love story of a dance hall star and a fishmonger's daughter.

Beyonce, who recently filmed the movie ?Dreamgirls,? would star as Kitty Butler, a male impersonator at the local music hall. Longoria would likely play Nancy Astley, the oyster girl who becomes Kitty's lesbian lover and later dabbles in prostitution, reports the Daily News.

"We've had Brokeback Mountain, so the time is right for this divine novel to get the same treatment," Beyonce told reporters.

Longoria has also confirmed she is interested in the role, saying: "Yes, it's true. We are talking about doing the movie together. It's such a wonderful novel, a beautiful love story."

Coppola, who won an Oscar for the 2003 drama ?Lost in Translation,? is said to be shopping the project to studios.
