Here's a little blues riff/finger exercise i like using it may

not be helpful

to experianced players but it helped me play faster

standard tuning on a 4 string all quarter notes play as fast as

you want

G|----------|----------|

D|------0--2|3--2--0---|repeat twice these two measures

A|---2------|---------2|

E|3---------|----------|

then play

G|------0--2|3--2--0---|

D|---2------|---------2|play this once

A|3---------|----------|

E|----------|----------|

and play this again

G|----------|----------|

D|------0--2|3--2--0---|play once this time

A|---2------|---------2|

E|3---------|----------|

then

G|------2--4|------0--2|----------|----------|

D|0--4------|---2------|------0--2|3--2--0---|

A|----------|3---------|---2------|---------2|

E|----------|----------|3---------|----------|

Thats it. Play slowly at first then gradualy speed up.

The whole point is to ue all your fingers to build strength and

better dexterity.
