Babyface Hits The Road in Support of New Album
R&B singer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmunds, probably better known as a Grammy-award winning producer and songwriter, will hit the club circuit in November and December, in support of his 11th album, "Playlist," a collection of covers of classic, album-oriented rock songs that have inspired him throughout his career. The album was released in September. "These songs shaped my past and now they're shaping my future," he says on his website. Among the artists and songs covered are: “Wonderful Tonight" (Eric Clapton); "Shower the People" and "Fire and Rain" (James Taylor); "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" (Bob Dylan); "Please Come To Boston" (Dave Loggins); "Longer" (Dan Fogelberg); "Time in a Bottle" (Jim Croce), and "Diary" (Bread). Edmunds began his career in the early 80's with funk band Delee. He released his first solo album, "Lovers," in 1986. As a prolific songwriter and producer, he crafted hit songs for such artists as Paula Abdul, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, and Boyz II Men, who dominated the charts with his penned hits "End of the Road," which became one of the best-selling singles of all time, and "I'll Make Love to You."
