Avenged Sevenfold Debut's at #4
Avenged Sevenfold, the self-titled and self-produced follow-up to the 2005 million-selling City of Evil, topped the Billboard Alternative, Hard and Rock Charts this week. It also debuted at Number Four on the Billboard Top 200, marking the biggest sales week ever for the Huntington Beach based band. Avenged Sevenfold was released on October 30th by Warner Bros. Records.
"Almost Easy," the first single for the album, exploded into the Top 10 at Active Rock and Top 20 at Alternative in less than a month. In addition, the video for "Almost Easy" is in MTV2's You Rock The Deuce Countdown and the Number One Most Played Video on Fuse. The video will also be a First Look video today on MTV's TRL.
The praises have only just begun. The LA Times boldly states, "Young rock musicians rarely radiate sanctity. But tune in to the clean power, honed chops and multi-part arrangements of 'Avenged Sevenfold,'" while Entertainment Weekly declares Avenged Sevenfold's "musicianship is unimpeachable." Revolver Magazine declares this "magnum opus...is the work of five extremely talented and deeply industrious musicians," and Guitar World has positioned the band to be "the next great American Rock Band." All of this is evidence that Avenged Sevenfold is not only a band but a lifestyle. As the LA Times says, their fans "come in devotion."
As lead singer M. Shadows says, "We have the best fans in the world. This album is for them."
Now see them for yourself.
