Roadrunner Records Europe Signs Atreyu

Atreyu

The release of debut album ‘Suicide Notes And Butterfly Kisses' (2002) exploded ATREYU onto the world scene. Their much lauded follow-up, ‘The Curse' (2004), further illustrated they were a force to be reckoned with. When their third album ‘A Death-Grip On Yesterday' (2006) hit stores, it smashed into the US Billboard chart at #9. Several world tours, 18 million MySpace streams, and one million US album sales later, their dynamic new studio album ‘Lead Sails Paper Anchor' is set for release on August 27th. ATREYU can't wait to take it to the next level with Roadrunner.

Vocalist Alex Varkatzas comments, "We're excited to be on a label with a roster we respect and with such a strong track record overseas. The ATREYU / Roadrunner combination is going to really shake things up, we feel confident about this relationship and can't wait to start crushing together!" ATREYU is completed by drummer/co-vocalist Brandon Saller, guitarists Travis Miguel and Daniel Jacobs, and Marc McKnight on bass.

‘Lead Sails Paper Anchor' is produced by Goldfinger's John Feldmann (Good Charlotte, The Used, Lostprophets) and features the incendiary guitars, battering rhythm section, and the soaring vocals with big choruses ATREYU are known for. At the same time, it sees the band broadening their horizons more than ever before. The legendary Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Slayer, Sepultura, Biffy Clyro) is behind the mixing desk. The track listing is:

1.Doomsday

2.Honor

3.Falling Down

4.Becoming The Bull

5.Lose It

6.Two Becomes One

7.No One Cares

8.Can't Happen Here

9.Slow Burn

10.Blow

11.Lead Sails (And A Paper Anchor)

In June, ATREYU launched a game in which fans are able to hear and arrange snippets of hook-laden first single ‘Becoming The Bull'. The fan who stitches all parts of the song together fastest, in the correct order, will win a sought after collection of prizes, including a signed guitar and a phone call from the band. Try it for yourself at www.atreyugame.com.

Brandon concludes, "Roadrunner has been supportive of our band for a very long time, it's great to finally be an official part of the family. We love travelling to other parts of the world; now we have a label who will actually support us in doing so!" ATREYU hit the road from July 20th on the US Family Values tour (Korn, Evanescence, Trivium, Hell Yeah) and hope to schedule international dates before the end of the year.
