Anderson John - Seminole Wind 3 guitar tab
Being an avid country music fan if the era when country music was real, one
of my pet peaves is getting the lyrics correct. The gentleman who initially
wrote all this down did a very fine job on the chord progressions, however,
he did miss a few words that are critical to the song. In the south, we
could really care less about a gull unless it is hovering above us on the
beach. The only time we use the word "waves" may perhaps be when we relate
to a football game, "America the Beautiful," or if some of our vets are
speaking of a Vietnam experience. I would like to replace the words and give
this wonderful song the justice it truly deserves.

Ever since the days of old

Men would search for wealth untold

They'd dig for silver and for gold

And leave the empty holes;

And way down south in the Everglades

Where the black water rolls and the saw grass sways

The eagles fly and the otters play

In the land of the Seminole;

|So blow, blow Seminole wind

|Blow like you're never gonna blow again;

Progress came and took its toll
And in the name of flood control
They made their plans and they drained the land
Now the Glades are goin' dry
And the last time I walked in the swamp
I stood up on a cypruss stump
I listened close and I heard the ghost
Of Oseola cry
| Em G
|So blow, blow Seminole wind
