R&B Singer Amy Winehouse Cancels Remaining 07 Tour Dates
In a move that does not come by shock, singer Amy Winehouse has canceled all her previously scheduled concerts and public appearances for the remainder of the year, according to a statement from the singer's publicist. The embattled songstress nixed her plans on the advice of her doctor, who ordered her to take complete rest, according to the statement. All of Winehouse's upcoming European gigs have been called off, with ticket refunds being offered to fans. "I can't give it my all onstage without my [husband] Blake," the statement read. "I'm so sorry, but I don't want to do the shows half-heartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him it's just not the same." Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was arrested in the U.K. earlier this month and formally charged with one count of "attempting to pervert the court of justice," or the U.S. equivalent of obstruction of justice. A spokesperson for Live Nation told the BBC there were no plans to reschedule the nixed gigs and that fans should return their tickets to the outlet where they had purchased them for a full refund.
