All That Remains

ALL THAT REMAINS frontman offers year-end recap

All That Remains

Phil Labonte, frontman for Massachusetts' ALL THAT REMAINS, has issued a year-end update focusing on upcoming headlining tour plans as well as the writing and recording process for the forthcoming follow up to ‘The Fall of Ideals,' tentatively scheduled for a mid-2008 release.

"I'm writing stuff again," Labonte says. "It's awesome. I love playing guitar. I love Mesa Boogie cabs and Peavey 5150 heads. I love Mike's blonde Washburn, it sounds so fucking awesome. There's just one problem: When you got a sweet sounding guitar and amp even dumb shitty riffs sound heavy. Ha ha, I've written a couple of stinkers with an amp then play them in my room without an amp. I'm like, ‘am I fucking stupid? I liked that?' But I digress. ATR started because I missed playing guitar (for those that don't know). I love when I get the chance to sit down and play. I kinda suck still, cause until the last week or two I hadn't played since we finished [The Fall of Ideals], but I don't care ‘cause the guitar sounds so good!

"I've been writing lyrics too...Lots of pretty positive stuff. I'm a pretty positive dude anyway. But things have been really pretty good lately and it's really coming through in the new stuff. I believe that with conviction and honesty with yourself you can achieve pretty much anything you're willing to work for. So don't get a job. Start something. Be something. It's not gonna be easy but it's gonna be way better than busting your ass to make someone else money. Work for yourself. But again I'm off the subject. Lyrics to the new record are gonna give you something to feel good about. ‘Cause there's always plenty of stuff you make ya feel shitty.

"Headline tour in February!! We are gonna be pulling out all the stops for this one. We're gonna have a far bigger production than we have ever had. I won't make any promises and we're probably not gonna play anything off of ‘Behind Silence.' No time to teach old songs. We have a record to write as well as get ready for a tour. And it's gonna be a SWEET TOUR! Tickets are SELLING now. Five Finger Death Punch is blowing up. I see them EVERYWHERE; TV, all over MySpace, the interwebz, radio, everywhere. Chimaira, we've done a bunch of touring with this band and they are AWESOME live. Such a great show these guys put on. Basically ATR have to play our best every night or we're gonna look dumb. Ha ha ha. So yeah, get your tickets if ya plan on making the show.

Oh yeah, Happy New Year!"

The band continues to support its latest effort, ‘The Fall of Ideals,' which saw a July 2006 release through Prosthetic Records. Also recently released this past fall were a reissue of the band's since out of print debut ‘Behind Silence and Solitude' as well as the band's first-ever DVD, ‘All That Remains Live,' which features all the band's music videos, footage from two live shows, behind the scenes footage, interviews with the fans and the band, and more.
