Swing On This by Alice In Chains
From: Jeffrey K. Krinks (krinks@apk.net)
This should generally be correct, at least it sounds a lot like it.
The instrument that the main riff is played on is either a bass,
a 5-string bass, or a regular guitar, I have it arranged for a
standard half step down electric guitar.
drum intro, then:
rhy fig 1: gtr 1 (electric with lots of bass, or bass)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------2-------------------------------
-4--2---------------------------------4-2-4----3-----------------------------
------3-2----------------2-3-2-------------------2-----------2-2b------------
-----------5-2-0--1-2/5--------5-0-1-------------5--0-1-2/5-------5p2--0--1--
rhy fig 2: gtr 2 (twelve string acoustic)
---------------------------------------4--4----------------4-----------
---------------------------------------4--4----------------4-----------
---------------------------------------5--5----------------5-----------
---------------------------------------6--6----------------6-----------
---------------------------------------6--6----------------6-----------
---------------------------------------4--4----------------6-----------
repeat rhy fig 1 in the verses, then the
twelve string does something like this:
Mother said come home
Father said come home
Sister said come home
So my friends said come home
-----4----4------------------4--
-----4----4------------------4--
-----5----5------------------5--
-----6----6------------------6--
-----6----6------------------6--
-----4----4------------------4-
gtr 3 or something (elec w/dist):
let me be, I'm okay, I'm awake, anyway
--------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------
------3----3b~~------3--3B~~-------3--------3b~~~-
-3---------------3------------3-------------------
--------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------
first solo (after the second chorus kind of thing)
(grad bend).....
---------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------
--5b-----------b5r(5)p(3)--------------------
---------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------
well, that's it for the solo, not much of a solo really. It is however,
labeled as (solo) in the little CD booklet. As for the outro solo, this
is going to be far from accurate, at least most likely, as I'm just going
to just air guitar the whole thing, here it goes:
grt. 4 or something (lots of trebble with that
old-fashion tube amp sound so you get that old 50's sound)
----------------------------
---------12~~-----11~~------
--15p12--12~~-----11~~------
---------------9------------
----------------------------
----------------------------
forget it, I quit, you can't even consider that a start,
as it seems to be way off.
